Agiosat Global Communications and Worldcast Sign Groundbreaking Strategic Convergence Alliance

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

LOS ANGELES, CA – May 11, 2010 – This week at The Cable Show (NCTA), satellite service provider Agiosat Global Communications and multipoint content broadcaster World Multicast Inc., dba Worldcast, announced they have inked a groundbreaking strategic convergence alliance, under which both companies have combined their skills and resources to provide a turnkey solution addressing the problematic “last mile” issues that plague the telco industry, slowing wider adoption of IPTV delivery. Agiosat’s established satellite-based delivery network, coupled with Worldcast’s secure and reliable multipoint technology, SMART (Secure Multipoint for Advanced Repeating of Telecommunications), provide a fresh, innovative delivery system in the IPTV marketplace. Agiosat and Worldcast will each contribute a full complement of multi-language, specialty, and ethnic content to the delivery platform. This will create an “a la carte” menu of channels, providing a system operator the ability to choose programming that appeals to their unique subscriber demographics.

Tom D. Soumas Jr., Founder of Agiosat, stated, “This alliance marries Agiosat’s proven satellite-based networks with the Worldcast SMART multipoint delivery technology. It is an exciting innovation, and a winning proposition for operators striving to meet subscribers' increased demands for additional niche, ethnic, and personalized programming in their markets. This system eliminates the operational challenge of receiving premium, and other specialized content, through bandwidth constrained, sometimes unstable, upstream delivery networks.”

Ian A. Stewart, Founder and Chief Technology Officer of Worldcast, says, “Our alliance is unique in the industry and it opens up the door to secure, reliable and bidirectional transmission of IPTV content on a nationwide vs. local basis in a highly cost-effective way using the features built within our SMART technology. We will be able to provide IPTV content nationwide, reaching diverse ethnic and cultural communities wherever they may be located. In addition, SMART enables advertisers to target their ads to a specific consumer, receiving the applicable content very cost effectively, without the fear of unproductive “shotgun” advertising missing their intended consumers.”

ABOUT WORLDCAST

Worldcast has developed an Internet software solution for worldwide interactive television to mass audiences. This will change the way the world watches television, bringing tremendous economic opportunities and consumer benefits. Current cable television systems are geographically bound and offer only limited interactive capabilities. Significant economic benefits are not being realized. Current Internet solutions, which all use unicast technology, do not scale, i.e., only a very limited number of customers can receive service simultaneously; therefore, there is no business model. Worldcast’s SMART (Secure Multipoint for Advanced Repeating of Telecommunications) technology overcomes these barriers. Our patented scalable technology enables broadcasters to send a single high-definition video signal to millions of viewers simultaneously, reaching an unlimited worldwide audience. Worldcast Releases SMARTGMP 1.2
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Ventura, California – August 5, 2009 – - Worldcast has released an Internet Group Management Protocol (IGMP) replacement called SMARTGMP (Secure Multipoint for Advanced Repeating of Telecommunications Group Management Protocol). SMARTGMP replaces IGMP for multipoint flow control, and is now included in Worldcast's entire product line. This new protocol has also been included in the LiveViewer product.

According to Ian A. Stewart, CTO of Worldcast, "IGMP is not reliable. The creators of the protocol tried to make it more reliable by sending the IGMP messages twice. This is unacceptable in radio LANS or high packet loss situations. For these environments you need a reliable multipoint signaling mechanism and SMARTGMP, the first reliable group management protocol, fits the bill to a tee." SMARTGMP is now included in the entire SMART library and all SMART enabled and embedded products.

Worldcast Releases Statement to Clarify Licensing Status of Its Unique IP Technology
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Ventura, California – July 21, 2009 – In February of this year World Multicast, Inc. (WMI) dba Worldcast formed a strategic partnership with Dynamic Media International (DMI), a company led by Alan Bailey, former Treasurer of Paramount Pictures. WMI’s relationship with DMI is ongoing.

Recent statements made by a firm not aligned with WMI strongly inferred that they had secured access to a new proprietary delivery platform that would allow networks, telcos and ISPs to broadcast HDTV content across the Internet. This patented technology, which far exceeds those capabilities of current cable, satellite and Internet technologies, does in fact exist, but is exclusively owned and controlled by World Multicast, Inc, which has not yet licensed its unique IPTV technology solution to any individual or entity, public or private.

Greg Miles, CEO for Worldcast, stated, “WMI has not licensed or released its proprietary patented technology to any public entity. Any claims to the contrary, have no basis in fact. When WMI deems it appropriate to issue further guidance, it will do so.”

World Multicast, Inc. will release further details regarding the licensing of their unique suite of IPTV technology solutions in the near future.

Worldcast Announces Plug-in for Silverlight
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Ventura, California – April 22, 2009 – Worldcast announced today that it has successfully completed a plug-in that enables SMART multipoint services. Worldcast to Begin Field Tests of SMART IP Television Protocol
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Ventura, California – September 8, 2008 – Worldcast announced plans this week, at a meeting of shareholders, to begin real-world testing of its patented SMART IP Television Protocol. Following successful lab tests by NOVEL Superlabs, and at the University of Utah over the Abilene High Performance Network, Worldcast is building strategic partnerships with the cable television industry, wireless network providers, other broadband distributors, content providers and advertising industry executives.

Unlike current point-to-point streaming technologies that require large allocations of expensive bandwidth as well as compression that reduces video quality, SMART is a point-to-multipoint protocol that supports all current IP television delivery methods, including Unicast, AnyCast, Multicast and others. SMART technology is scalable to deliver HD quality video content to mass audiences.

According to Greg Miles, CEO of Worldcast, SMART technology has many uses, including increasing channel capacity on broadband networks without expensive infrastructure rebuilds. SMART technology is a dynamic 2-way technology that offers the interactive capabilities of Television 2.0 as well as many revenue-generating opportunities, such as targeted, low-cost, internet-driven ad insertion.

Field tests of SMART are designed to prove the technology in real-world settings and to identify and quantify many of the revenue opportunities.

Worldcast is also pursuing licensing agreements with programmers and content providers for a limited network of targeted channels that will be delivered to college campuses. "Worldcast SMART technology can allow advertisers to reach specific targeted demographic groups at low cost, with complete tracking of ads, even when content is recorded and shared," said Dave Clark who is one of the founders of the National Cable Television Cooperative (NCTC) and serves as Sr. VP of Programming for Worldcast. "Worldcast’s proprietary software offers DVR and program guide capabilities, without the need for expensive hardware." Initially, the network will be available on personal computers using Worldcast’s proprietary media player.

"Because SMART is a software solution, it has the potential of drastically lowering the cost of future generations of set-top terminals and other media devices," said Ian Stewart, President/Chief Technology Officer and Founder of Worldcast. “Our patented error correction protocol, dubbed the 'Manzanita Project,' can drastically improve the quality and reliability of video delivery to a variety or portable media devices." The SMART 'Manzanita' packet replacement technology has many other applications to improve communication technologies such as VoIP.
